About project

Our project deals with encouraging social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport, because its overall goal is for gender equality. Outdoor guide is the most advanced sports professional in the field of outdoor sports. In one person combines sports coach, advanced planning and organization, technical knowledge, first aid experience, knowledge of environmental protection…

After analyzing the number of women’s guides in outdoor sports at national levels, we came up with data that Serbia lags significantly behind Slovenia and Italy. Namely, in Serbia, the number of female outdoor guides is represented at only 16%, while in Slovenia and Italy these percentages are significantly higher, Slovenia 32% and Italy 38.5%, respectively.

This analysis has shown us that the presence of female guides in outdoor sports is not so good compared to men. With the pursuit of gender equality and in this segment, we believe it is necessary to take steps to raise the number of female guides in outdoor sports and of course raise awareness of the importance of women’s participation in such activities. The project will act in the aforementioned direction through the exchange of experiences between female guides – an example of good practice, and the direct impact on the increase in the number of female guides, primarily in Serbia, will be made through the selection, professional training and training of 12 candidates for the title of category III mountain guide.
