The project “BOOST – Building Opportunities for Optimal Sports Participation and Training for People with IBD” is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Sport 2025 programme.
Main project objective:
Improving the quality of life of people living with IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) by creating conditions to increase the share of patients who engage in sports and physical activity, promoting inclusive recreational sports, raising awareness, and encouraging cooperation between sports organizations, healthcare institutions, and patient organizations.
Specific objectives:
- SO1: Increase knowledge about the benefits of physical activity for people with IBD among the IBD community itself, the wider public, healthcare professionals, and sports instructors.
- SO2: Equip sports instructors with the skills and knowledge needed to support the specific needs of people with IBD.
- SO3: Develop tailored sports programmes and manuals designed for the IBD population.
- SO4: Reduce stigma related to IBD through public awareness-raising campaigns.
- SO5: Establish an international network for knowledge exchange, sharing best practices, and promoting sustainable, inclusive sports models.
