Project „GREEN SLOPES“

The GREEN SOPES project, which aims to foster sustainable backcountry skiing and mountaineering, seeks to bridge the gap between outdoor recreation and environmental conservation through education and community engagement. By training a new generation of backcountry skiing and mountaineering guides and engaging the wider community, the project aims to promote safety, sustainability, and stewardship in mountain areas. Through the acquisition of practical knowledge, fostering environmental awareness, and establishing sustainable practices, this project seeks to contribute to the preservation of mountain ecosystems for future generations. The project directly contributes to the European Union’s ambitious environmental and sustainability goals by promoting a culture of responsible stewardship of natural resources, in line with the vision of the European Green Deal for biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and climate change mitigation.
